What Does Baking-Soda-Free Deodorant Mean?

Baking-Soda-Free Deodorant Explained

A baking-soda-free deodorant is simply a deodorant formulated without sodium bicarbonate, commonly known as baking soda. Baking soda is used in some deodorants because it can help neutralize odor, but not every formula needs it.
Am-arti’s cream deodorants are made without baking soda. Instead, our formulas use Moroccan Toutia, arrowroot powder, plant-based oils and butters, beeswax, vitamin E, and essential oils to create a smooth cream deodorant for everyday use.
Choosing a baking-soda-free deodorant does not automatically make one product better than another. It simply gives customers another formulation option based on their preferences and how their skin responds to different ingredients.

Why Is Baking Soda Used in Some Deodorants?

Baking soda is often used in deodorant because it can help reduce unpleasant odor by changing the environment in which odor-causing compounds develop. It is inexpensive, widely available, and works well in many traditional natural deodorant formulas.
However, deodorant formulas can use many different ingredient combinations. Some rely on powders, clays, oils, waxes, fragrance ingredients, or other odor-control ingredients instead.
Am-arti was intentionally developed without baking soda so our cream deodorants have a different ingredient profile and texture from many conventional natural deodorant formulas.

Why Do Some People Choose Baking-Soda-Free Deodorant?

Some people simply prefer deodorants without baking soda. Others may choose to avoid it because they have found that certain baking-soda-containing products do not feel comfortable on their skin.
Skin response can vary from person to person, so there is no single deodorant formula that is best for everyone. A baking-soda-free product can be a useful option for customers who want a different type of deodorant formula.
Am-arti’s goal is to offer a simple cream deodorant made without baking soda, aluminum antiperspirant ingredients, or parabens, while keeping the formula easy to use and pleasantly scented with essential oils.

Does Am-arti Contain Baking Soda?

No. Am-arti’s current cream deodorant formulas are made without baking soda. Our formulas combine Moroccan Toutia with ingredients such as arrowroot powder, refined coconut oil, shea butter, beeswax, vitamin E, and essential oils.

Am-arti is a deodorant, not an antiperspirant. It is designed to help manage everyday odor while allowing normal perspiration. If you have sensitive skin or known ingredient sensitivities, review the full ingredient list before use and consider patch testing the product first.

How to Use Am-arti Cream Deodorant

Am-arti cream deodorant is applied differently from a traditional stick, but the routine is simple.
Start with clean, dry underarms. Scoop out a small amount of cream using clean fingers or a clean applicator, then gently spread it evenly across the underarm.
A thin layer is usually enough. Start with a small amount and add more only if needed. After applying, allow the cream a moment to absorb before getting dressed.
You can apply Am-arti after showering, as part of your morning routine, or whenever it fits best into your day. Reapply as needed based on your activity level and personal preference.
